Since the last week before holidays slowly comes to an end, I thought I'd curate a little list of bits that made the last couple of days more joyful. It's really not even that big of a deal since obviously the options are limited, but I like to think that it simply makes us appreciate the simple, everyday things in life.
#1 - morning yoga
I can never stress enough how nice a good ol' strech feels first thing in the morning. I started the yoga routine some time ago, to have a gentle warm-up and focus on my breath. This is such a quick and easy way to start your day + your body will thank you for this little bit of movement.

#2 - nutritious homemade food
Obviously now I spend more time in the kitchen than ever, but it's all to the good. Now that I have more time, planning and making a healthy meal is the easiessssst thing in the world, so why not take advantage of that. My favourite lunch combo lately has been quinoa with veggies (I add aragula, olives, chopped tomato and black beans) and it's basically one of these throw-it-all-in-a-bowl-and-you-are-ready-to-go recipes so it can never go wrong!
#3 - the weather
Although going out is not really an option nowadays, you can still soak up the rays from the comforts of your garden / balcony and if you don't have one, letting some sun in simply by opening the window wide and ventilating the house will do just fine. The spring is in the air and it shows!
#4 - indoor vlogs
Home-based content is one of my absolute faves so any vlogs from my beloved creators are very much welcomed. I love it all - the simple routines, the breakfast, the sorting-out-the-house time lapses and everything in between. There's something so serene and comforting about it, definitely a (guilty) pleasure of mine.
#5 - grocery shopping
Okay I'm not even kidding right now - since we get our groceries less often these days, a trip to the local supermarket does feel like something special and even exciting (hello, Darka the grandma) and really take your meal-planning skills to another level, since you have to take your time to actually think what you'll need for the next couple of days or so.
And that's it guys, I hope you had an equally nice week, and that you'll have a lovely time during the holidays, no matter how you spend it. I'll check up on you in a bit!
x, D.
I can totally agree with you — those simply things are just much more amazing than they actually were in the past. As our life is not quite normal right now, it’s very important to just appreciate what we have and what we get.
ReplyDeleteFor me it’s my 11 o’clock coffee that I drink with my mum, sitting next to each other and just have a simple small talk about something positive. And that’s it! So simple but so beautiful!
That's exactly what I meant, cherishing the time with family, the time alone or with friends on a video-call - it makes us appreciate the relationships in life even more. Thank you for your comment! <3
