Like I mentioned in one of my previous Instagram posts, the last couple of days consisted of all things simple - a bit of baking, watching Netflix at night, cuddling, napping, solving puzzles and way more. I really can’t complain - the weather outside is so so beautiful, the sun is coming through, we try to keep ourselves as busy as possible with the little chores, but most of all wind down and relax.
Having so much time made me finally get down to refreshing my wardrobe and focus on what I have, what I still need and what I can do without. I really believe in this quality over quantity philosophy but haven’t decluttered my closet for ages and if now’s not a perfect time to do so, then I don’t know what is. I’m planning to sell or donate some pieces, supply myself with all the essentials I lack and therefore narrow down the amount of clothes to those strong staples that will go well with everything. On top of my shopping list are a basic black sweatshirt (I know, nothing special) and tennis socks (again nothing special haha) since I already crossed off a beige teddy jacket for spring and the comfiest sweatpants. Both the jacket and the pants will surely make an appearance on my blog/ig at some point since I’m basically living in them rn. To be honest I’m loving all things oversized, unisex and soft these days so that’s pretty much what I’ve been having my eye on. Comfort above all else.
I’m also trying to stick to eating healthy and pay attention to my water intake since I fail BADLY if I don’t have notifications set on my phone and don’t track the glasses I drink daily. Speaking of food, I spend soo much time on coming up with simple plant-based meals and I’ve been really enjoying those moments I spend in the kitchen, experimenting and trying new things out (the other day I stumbled upon a perfect recipe for vegan banana pancakes, and I am obsessed ever since) and honestly, it’s been so therapeutic. I don’t even remember when was the last time I consciously enjoyed cooking and baking this much.
This post is pretty much a loose stream of thoughts, but I wanted to keep it raw and authentic (haven’t even proofread it, sorry!), and just have a little chat about how the things have been lately. Guess the main thought behind this post is that the time at home can be such a lovely opportunity to listen to your needs and slow down. It’s been really inspiring you know, even if it’s just my introvert nature speaking. But it’s all very very good.
Let me know how is life and how are you doing these days. Once again, I hope you are safe and sound and see the glass half full even during those hectic times.
x,
Daria
