summer nostalgia

The end of August always feels a bit bitter-sweet to me. Yes, I do have holidays for another month, and yes, I still have some planned trips to look forward to, but as the new month slowly rolls in, my body and mind naturally go into their annual autumnal mode and all I can think of are the sweet sweet chilly evenings of September.

Summer has its perks though and this one surely had some as well. I already sense this nostalgic feel creeping up on me when I think of warm nights in June, buying fresh berries in local farmers' markets and spending days on the beach until my hair are salty and feet all covered in soft sand. I'm so so glad I have some of these things captured on polaroids -- instant photos really add up to this nostalgic feeling, since I still keep on finding them scattered all over my bag, tucked in the wallet or inbetween the pages of my journal.

This summer has really treated me right, and I really hope the next one will to.

In the meantime, in a couple of days I'm heading off to Paris for a week -- I adore this city, especially in September. The light is just perfect and golden hour makes the already amazing architeture stand out even more, exposing all the curves and details. I'm beyond excited to explore the little streets, shop in my favourite stores, take hundreds and hundreds of pictures and consume endless coffee and croissants. If that ain't paradise than I really don't know what is.

Let me know what your plans for the next month are. I'd love to hear your stories!

xx,
Daria
